One of the first things parents should think about is electrical outlets. Electrical outlets can be very dangerous when babies are concerned. When a baby sees an outlet, all the baby sees is holes ideal for sticking things inside of. If you haven’t noticed already, your baby watching everything that you do. Your baby has probably watched you plug in electronics into outlets before. Babies love to mimic what their parents do. Your baby will want to use the outlet the way you have in the past. Since your baby does not have the appropriate object to put in the outlet then your baby will find anything that will fit inside. If your baby finds a paper clip on the floor and puts that inside of the outlet your baby can get electrocuted. To avoid any harm coming to your baby you will need to baby proof all the outlets in your house.
Another way to baby proof your home to get drawer catchers for all of the cabinets in your home. Drawer catchers are made to keep your cabinets closed. Even if your baby tries to open any of the cabinets, your baby will only get it opened an inch. Your baby may stub his or her finger slightly but your baby will learn that cabinets are to be avoided. Drawer catchers do not only serve as a baby proofing item but also as a earthquake proofing method. Since the drawer catchers keep the cabinets closed, during an earthquake, you can be sure that your items will not tumble out of your cabinets.
When you baby is a little older, toddler age, you will abandon the baby tub and simply bath your babies in the bath tub itself. You should baby proof everything in the bathroom. It is one of the most dangerous rooms in the house for good reason, With so much water on the floor and sharp corners everywhere you turn, baby proofing you bathroom should be the first place you start baby proofing. For some reason babies hate to take a bath. So usually you will have to fill the bath tub with not only water but toys as well. They might make believe that they are on a sinking boat and stick their heads in and out of the water. Some may try to make waves and move from side to side. If you have a baby moving around a slippery tub, accidents can and will happen. The tub faucet can be the cause of many tub related accidents. It sticks out of the wall and very hard and in the perfect position to bump the head of a baby. That is why faucet covers are a good idea. Faucet covers are soft and fit right over your current faucet. They also make bath time more fun.
