Secret Behind the Slipcover

Entrepreneurs Amy Feldman and Allison Costa founded the company in 2007, with the goal of creating a product that provides a cleaner, safer environment for your child within the play yard.

As a new mother, Allison loved putting her twins in their play yard where they nap, hang out and play together in a safe, contained area. But she was frustrated with how hard it was to keep the play yard clean. It also stood out like a sore thumb in her custom-designed living space. The solution? Whimsical patterns and traditional styles complete a classic collection of comfortable, kid-friendly sheets and slipcovers that fit virtually all play yards. Did we mention they shield kids from germs?

Allison Costa, footwear designer. Fashion rebel. Free-thinking businesswoman. Inventor. Globetrotter. And rock star (in the eyes of her twin boys! They’re the reason she created COVERPLAY). Allison knew she needed help and needed it fast. She went to her best friend Amy Feldman and recruited her for the task of refining the product line, building a company and making COVERPLAY a brand staple.

Amy is a designer who has lived her life as a trendsetter with an eye for fabulous fashions and the latest looks. Discovered by New York’s legendary Henri Bendel boutique, she honed her business chops while launching a successful line of diaper bags sold in Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Babies R Us. Star-obsessed boutiques Fred Segal and Kitson also carried her lines, and Hollywood can’t seem to get enough of her designs. Amy’s A-list following includes celebrity moms Kate Hudson, Brooke Shields, Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry. Tracking trends is her specialty and Amy’s instincts are always right. She was instrumental in starting the trend of personalization in fashion and continues scoping out innovative fashion finds that keep COVERPLAY designs fresh and exciting.
